The beginning of the waterfall adventure was Niagara Falls.  We went on the Hornblower tour, journeyed Behind the Falls, drank Canadian wine, and watched fireworks from our bedroom window.  The moon was getting full and the falls were illuminated and changed colors at night.   Around the hotel were a bunch of amusements, so we also went through a mirror maze.  For $8, we could run into walls, talk to each other's reflections without knowing the difference, aaaand listen to with Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" (which made me very happy).

the whirlpool

We pulled off for "the whirlpool" and took a shortcut on the left, scrambling down a steep,  rocky, mossy, slippery embankment.  We rolled out onto a sun-soaked pebble beach, overlooking a beautiful blue basin surrounded by cliffs and bright green foliage.  There's always a sort of magic coming out of the woods, into the light.  People were fishing and having picnics on the edge of the water.  With all the sunshine, I opened the back of the camera before rewinding.
